Lizbeth “Liz” Griffin Ellis graduated from Arizona State University with a J.D. in 1984, prior to which she completed her B.B.A. at New Mexico State University in 1981. Liz is a proud New Mexico native, born in Las Cruces and raised in Silver City. She is married to Michael and has two grown sons. Throughout her career, Liz transitioned from working in a large law firm in Phoenix, focusing on securities fraud litigation, to practicing general law in Las Cruces, and later teaching business law at the NMSU College of Business. Her final role was as the General Counsel at NMSU before retiring in 2019. Post-retirement, she has remained active, engaging in various activities while still making time for leisure and travel. In 2019, she became a member of the Board of Amador Health Center, driven by her commitment to community well-being and the belief that every individual deserves access to basic health care.
