Substance Use Services Director

Ray Stewart has over 35 years of experience in public health and has worked with city/county, state, and federal systems in various large cities across the country. From 2001 to 2015, he served as the Southwest Region Public Health Director with NMDOH. Ray began collaborating with AHC in 2002 by sending medical staff to work in the primary care clinic. Throughout his career, he has initiated substance use disorder (SUD) treatment services in public, community nonprofit, and private clinics. In September 2018, Ray joined Amador Health Center to implement a 5-year federal grant for SUDs. He is a Certified Peer Support Worker (CPSW).
