Part-time PHARMACIST

PHARMACIST – Part-Time 20-25 Hrs 6-month Pilot Program (07/01-12/31). Will decide if/how to continue by 12/02/2025. (Shift 3:30 pm – 8:30 pm M-F or M-Th TBD by hire date)

Position Summary

At minimum, we would like to have a part-time pharmacist working in-house 25 hours per week to cover 4:00 -8:00 pm Monday–Friday (or Monday – Thursday, still TBD) (shift 3:30 pm – 8:30 pm) at Amador Health Center. Must be Licensed as a Pharmacist by the State Board of Pharmacy in New Mexico and have a BS or Pharm D degree from an accredited pharmacy program.

Experience and understanding of the 340B program are helpful. The Pharmacist will provide supervision for an experienced Pharmacy Tech.

Duties:

  • Fill prescriptions, verify instructions from physicians on the proper amounts of medication to give patients, and advise patients on interactions with other medications. Instruct patients on how and when to take a prescribed medicine and inform them about its potential side effects.
  • Oversee Orders, Inventory, and medical supplies and medications.
  • Assist with insurance forms and work with insurance companies to ensure patients get the necessary medicines.
  • Consult with other healthcare professionals and other resources to ensure all services are in the patient’s best interests and conform to established professional standards and applicable state laws.
  • Provide pharmaceutical services to Amador Health Center patients through our Class B pharmacy
  • Oversee the work of pharmacy technicians.
  • Provide continuing education to clinic staff and provide patient education as required.
  • Teach other healthcare practitioners about proper medication therapies for patients.
  • Maintain effective communication with the supervisor to ensure coordination of pharmacy services with other program components.
  • Train and monitor department staff compliance with OSHA and safety policies.
  • Assist in the implementation of a quality assurance program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.
  • Advise administration of opportunities in pharmacy administration.

  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical agents, dangerous drugs, and devices. Ability to recognize and advise clinicians of potential problems.
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices of development, and training to conduct in-service programs.
  • Available to travel to appropriate training or conferences.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary is negotiable and commensurate with experience and education. Employer contribution to an agency-sponsored 403-B retirement plan.
